I find this even more alarmist propaganda. If the CFR is lower, that means that less people are going to die than expected. For each individual person, they have much less to fear than if the CFR was 1 or 2%. It seems impossible at this point to contain the spread, especially when it goes over .5% prevalence in a population. What can be done now is to reopen, isolate those who are vulnerable, and carry on with our lives.

If the recently leaked FEMA projections of 3000 deaths per day by June come to pass, is this all still alarmist propaganda? What is a death toll that is not alarmist to you?

Places like South Korea have done what you’ve suggested. It requires massive testing. Then, contact tracing and isolation. The problem always comes back to testing. In the USA testing, is still lacking. So the thoughtful states won’t reopen.
